Water will be extensive through fields and will affect gardens and properties on Lower Street and Swan Corner, Pulborough, near to Swan Bridge and Bridge Cottages, Greatham. Only showers are forecast on Tuesday (07/01/2025). The river should continue to fall. Flood risk should reduce by Tuesday evening, but river levels will not return nearer to normal until the weekend. There is uncertainty in the weather forecast for the rest of the week. Snow could be possible on Wednesday afternoon, or alternatively another 10-20mm of rain. A further 10-20mm of rain is possible on Friday. If rain occurs this week, it could cause a small river rise and flood risk to increase. Some roads, including the A29 at Pulborough, may be affected by flood water. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. Only scattered showers are forecast on Monday and Tuesday. The river should begin to fall by 19:00 on Monday 06/01/2025, and flood risk should reduce on Tuesday evening 07/01/2025, but river levels will not return nearer to normal until the weekend. Flood impacts affecting the A29 at Pulborough, fields, gardens near Swan Bridge Pulborough and Bridge Cottages, Greatham, should reduce a little through Friday. Only isolated showers are forecast Friday and Saturday. The river should continue to slowly fall, but will not fall nearer to a normal level until the middle of next week. On Sunday 01/12/2024, another 10-20mm of rain is forecast, which could cause the river to rise again, although we currently think not as high. However, minor flood impacts could still be possible. Flood water will also affect the A29 at Pulborough, and will be extensive through nearby fields and gardens. The weather outlook is for predominantly dry days until Sunday 24/10/2021, however despite this, the River Arun will continue to slowly rise in Pulborough until the early hours of Saturday 23/10/2021. River levels could peak at a similar height as experienced in February 2020. A week of dry weather will be required before flows return to normal. Flood impacts will continue to affect fields, gardens, roads and isolated properties close to Swan Bridge, the A29 and close to Carpenters Meadow and Swan View. Please continue to take care in and around flood affected areas, flood water can contain hidden dangers. Rain has now cleared, and only isolated showers are expected until Thursday 20/2/2020. These showers are unlikely to cause river levels to rise, but river levels will not fall significantly until later in the week. Storm Dennis has brought 50 mm of rain so far. River levels are now rising in Pulborough, and are predicted to rise throughout Sunday night, and property flooding is possible from 02:00 (17/02/2020). River levels are now working their way down the Upper Arun. Impacts may potentially be equal to, or greater than, Christmas 2019. Flood water will be widespread and also affect fields, gardens and roads. Locations could include, properties close to Swan Bridge, the A29 and close to Carpenters Meadow and Swan View. With only isolated showers through to midweek, river levels should begin to fall by Tuesday 18/02/2020. Plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding, such as the A29 through Pulborough.
